We are having a golf themed party to celebrate Elijah "Mastering His First Year" and Phillip turning "ThirTEE". The catch is: this is a surprise for Phillip. For those who are curious, I have no clue if he will enjoy this, but he would never let me directly throw him a party... So here we are. Phillip is aware that there is a party happening, however he is under the impression that this is only a party for our son, Elijah. 

I have joked for over three years now that Phillip is "an old man". I would appreciate anyone who is willing to fully commit to the party theme and dress as a golfer. Extra points if you commit to the "retired man golfing style" (think Richard Gilmore, but will also accept Happy Gilmore vibes) 

Please RSVP on the provided RSVP link. This will help us get a better count of how much food we should provide. Oh yah.. DUH, food! We will be providing a light lunch with Mastered themed foods. This includes the legendary Pimento Cheese and Egg Salad, beef brisket sandwiches, veggie trays, chips and dessert. If you are interested in bringing more food please let Sarah know and we can see about coordinating other dishes as well. 

To save Phillip that ego boosting spotlight we all know he loves so much, this wont be a typical surprise party. We wont be doing the thing where we all jump out and yell surprise. Instead he will simply show up to the party when he's done with a morning of golfing and we will just watch him realize I pulled this off. 

Why the surprise and all this effort then? Because Phillip thinks its silly to spend money on him or to celebrate him, however I think he deserves a week long parade for his birthday. So I compromised and decided on this. 

YES! This is still a party for Elijah as well! We will be celebrating BOTH of these guys!

I have mentioned elsewhere that we would like to decline on gift giving. Our family has been so blessed this year and we are not in need of anything. If you truly feel like you can not show up empty handed please contact Sarah and coordinate bringing a food or drink item. We are sure that you found that one amazingly specific thing that would be perfect for either of our birthday boys, but in all seriousness, please don't. We are in the middle of a home remodel and do not want more things taking up space in the midst of the dust and destruction. Thank you for understanding.
